As a business, Planet Orange is committed to protecting people, therefore we are closely monitoring the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) situation and providing informative updates to our customers via our websites and direct communications. In the interim, we want to reassure you that we are taking steps to remove potential risk factors, both for you in your day-to-day interactions and in those with our Colleagues. To help answer any queries you may have regarding our pest control services, we have created a list of COVD-19 related questions and answers as a way of keeping you up-to-date and informed about our services.
Will the entirety of your pest control services still be available?
Yes. Planet Orange’s General Pest Control Services and Termite Control Services are available for business. Exterminators have officially been deemed an “Essential Service” by all counties during shelter in place. Pest Control, along with sanitation, play a vital role in protecting public health and food supply chains against contamination, allergies, diseases as well as viruses.
How are you providing the service for your customers?
The safety of our customers and our employees always comes first. All of our technicians have already been trained, tested and certified in the ongoing use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Our normal course of treatments include the use of respirators, eye protection, gloves and clothing that conform with safety requirements established by the EPA and the Occupational Health and Safety Administration.
I’m concerned about anyone entering my home right now. What safety procedures do you have in place?
As aforementioned, our highly professional staff have been trained and tested in the use of personal protective equipment and wear all necessary equipment to prohibit the transmission of any viruses. Equally, if a customer prefers that we only treat the exterior of their home, we can do that too. Our technicians can keep the outside perimeter of your home consistently treated as a way of reducing the amount of pest entry points in your property and subsequent infestations.
I’ve had to close my business. Will you still be able to provide commercial services? (business closures etc).
Yes, most of our commercial services are done while the business is closed or before they open for the day anyway. If you want to stop services temporarily, you will need an initial set appointment after 45 days without any treatment. It’s better to keep the regular service going than to incur the cost of an initial set up appointment all over again. Integrated Pest Management services are meant to stay in place for prevention, stopping service only opens the door for infestation or flare ups of known issues on the property.
Is there anything else I should be doing to prevent pest control problems during self-isolation?
CDC guidelines for keeping your home clean will definitely help in preventing pest control issues from becoming full infestations in most cases.
Can I still stay at home (self-isolation) while receiving pest control treatment?
Yes, Plant Orange specializes in Eco-Friendly, least toxic treatments. Once any solution we use drys, they are kid and pet friendly.
Can I catch COVID-19 from pest infestations?
Transfer of the virus through pests has not yet been determined or seen. Our Technical Advisory Board and Management teams are keeping up to date with the rapid changes, as an eye out for any potential pest issues related to the virus. This way, we can be as proactive as possible with our treatment solutions.
Are you planning any changes to my regular residential pest control services? – signing documents with gloves etc?
Almost all of our client interactions are done electronically, i.e. our service reports are emailed and our agreements can be signed and saved digitally. If a client does not have the capability to sign documents electronically, we can also supply the client with a pair of disposable gloves for any signing or approval needed.
